Amanda Smart

My work is semi-abstract, often playful, sometimes luminous, and always grounded in design. I love working with tactile materials—paint, fabric, found objects—letting the process lead, while holding it all within a considered, intentional frame.

I've exhibited on and off over the years, as time has allowed and as I’ve moved beyond the intensity of active parenting. Each new body of work marks a shift—often sparked by memory, place, or the pulse of the natural world.

At the heart of my practice is a belief in reuse, responsiveness, and the beauty of the everyday. I also run a vintage business, Thunderbird Vintage Limited, which reflects this ethos and often feeds back into my creative life.
