This painting draws on my recurring love for flowers — their innocence, fragility, and that fleeting beauty that always feels so poignant. The daisies here are a little ode to the simple joy of bringing something delicate home, placing it in a vase, and letting it brighten the windowsill for a few days.
There’s something quietly symbolic about the vase too — a kind of metaphor for care, containment, and safety. I often collect a single bloom on my daily walk and pop it into water just to enjoy it for a moment longer. That act always connects me to something bigger — nature, rhythm, and a sense of slowing down.
The lines in this work are bold but soft, and the colour palette brings together blush, cool mint, crimson, black and pale blue — all circling around those daisy forms like layers of thought or memory. It’s joyful, yes — but also a little reflective.
