Description: She Left the Room is a deeply personal work painted after the tragic loss of a beautiful artist, designer and dear friend. The painting began in response to a piece she once gave me. I leaned into art as a way to process grief, to sit with absence, to try to understand what cannot be understood, and to capture her memory forever.
This is a rare work for me in that it includes figures. The presence and the space around them speak to departure, memory, and the quiet shock of someone no longer being there.
